Kenny was a normal kid until 8:45 when he indicated he feels like throwing up. Daddy was washing dishes at the sink so we told him to get to the sink right away until Daddy gets the puke bucket. He proceeded to vomit every few minutes. His fingers then involuntarily curled up with tingling sensation in hand and feet. He had trouble standing, walking, and talking in a blink of an eye. Within 30 minutes he had a full nasty colon blow with face in the bucket. His body declared red alert ordering everything out immediately. Realized he now needs medical attention. Called 24-hour Ask a Nurse who indicated he needs to go to the ER and not urgent care. We considered Centennial Hospital since closer, but opted for Summerlin Pediatric Hospital since specializing in kids. Mommy drove 95 mph passing in no passing zones along with blowing through (safely) stop signs and stop lights dropping Daddy and Kenny at the ER entrance. No one there so we went right inside by 10 pm. He received an IV and blood work. 4 mg of Zofran was provided to stop the nausea. Doctor said it is a miracle drug that will stop it. Didn't work. Another 4 mg. After the quick IV drip and Zofran, Took xray of stomach to check for issues, but none found. By 12:30 am, Kenny was later felling much better. His potassium was dangerously low. Gave him three big pills of Potassium. Walk around to see if okay to go home, but then he puked again. Never seen such colorful puke before due to Potassium pills. We decided he needs to be admitted to the hospital. He received another 8 mg of Zofran and another IV bag with Potassium addition. Daddy went home to take care of Rainier who was waiting for us to return since we abruptly left him. Mommy stayed with Kenny as he was transferred to pediatric isolation room. Kenny liked being carted in a wheelchair. Daddy returned at 8 am. Kenny feeling better, but still weak and tired. Every time he pee'd, he would have diarrhea. Earlier there was blood in the liquid poop. Tests ruled out bacteria called clostridium difficile, or C. diff test and flu. No fever nor body aches throughout the issue. By late afternoon, he was feeling much better. Ate liquid lunch, but solid dinner. No more diarrhea. Released at 9 pm. Got home pretty much exactly 24-hours after leaving. He slept very well that night and completely back to normal the next morning.
